9:22: Vishal starts State of the SA. Standard goals and dreams.
"we're here to serve the students"
I'm glad that that needs to be re-iterated.
9:24: Kyle thanks us for being on time. Awesome.
9:25: The thank you's aren't done. An abridged list:
1) The senate
2) The executive
3) Committee Chairs
4) The executive again, this time for updating our website. Which no one visits.
9:28: Initial public comment starts. I won't comment on the questions being asked.
9:53: We move on to confirmations. Confirm a new JCFS, Dining Services Chair, and two Student court nominees: Kevin Kozlowski and Brand Kroeger.
I anticipate all passing easily. I have no problems with any, vote for them all. Whatever.
9:59: Kyle mentions that I'm liveblogging. He's broken the third wall.
10:05: All confirmations pass. Chris Wimbush makes an appearance. Brand calls him the "next chief justice"
10:06: Meeting moves into closing.
10:09: MEETING MOVES INTO A POOPSTORM:
A law school replacement senator has participated in the meeting who HAS NOT been confirmed. Kyle chews out Nick, who apparently just took Vishal's word that "everything was OK".
Ouch.
10:11: Now a grad senator argues that because this guy got the next most votes, he should be seated.
Parliamentarian says that any new semester must be confirmed by rules committee.
(EDIT: Parliamentarian Andy Greene clarifies later:
Any new senator must be nominated by rules committee once the rules committee had advertised the vacancy per the bylaws.)
10:13: Kyle declares the conflict over and says he'll review. Hehe.
Nick Polk: "Sorry for the mix-up".

I LOVE THIS! STICK IT TO THOSE SELF-CENTERED POSERS
This is what happens when people with no idea what they're doing are selected to Chair committees (particularly Rules). "Taking his word for it??" Yikes.
While supposedly only a small hiccup, this doesn't bode well...
haha an annonymous sa tool that cares about the rules committee
cool
and you all still take the SA too seriously...
I think you all missed by point earlier about the SA and who "is" a senator.
Does it matter much? Not usually. But just wait until that random guy who shows up and starts voting is casting the tie breaking vote to take money away from the CRs/CDs, or give it to GWNORML, or (insert pet student group here) instead of (insert other group here).
All I'm asking for is our leaders to actually know who was elected. Just pay a little attention...
who are you?
Me? I'm just some douche.
I'm just a concerned member of the CDs who wants to make sure that every student group gets a fair amount of money
Unlike last year...
The CD's didn't get money because compared to the CR's, we do horrible programming.

This is like listening to a Bear Stearns executive complaining that their bail-out wasn't big enough.
Were getting away from my original point, we need to elect SA leaders that know what they're doing so in the future this small hiccup doesn't become a major issue that could jeapordize other student organizations.
This could really become a big problem. What does Vishal know about filling Senate spots anyway?
